Patient Rights & Responsibilities

What you are entitled to at King's College Hospital London — Jeddah, and what we ask of you in return.

Your rights as a patient

Every patient at KCHJ has the right to receive care regardless of nationality, religion, gender, or ability to pay for emergency treatment.

  • To be treated with dignity and respect at all times.
  • To receive care that meets internationally recognised clinical standards.
  • To be informed about your diagnosis, treatment options, risks, and expected outcomes in a language you understand.
  • To give or withhold informed consent before any procedure.
  • To access your medical records on request.
  • To have a family member or representative present during your care, subject to clinical needs.
  • To raise a complaint without fear of affecting the quality of your care.

Your responsibilities as a patient

Good care is a partnership. We ask you to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about your health history, medications, and any previous treatments.
  • Follow the treatment plan agreed with your clinical team, and tell us if you are unable to.
  • Treat our staff, other patients, and visitors with respect.
  • Arrive on time for appointments, or let us know in advance if you need to cancel.
  • Keep your insurance and contact details up to date.

How to make a complaint

Speak to the nurse or doctor responsible for your care, or go directly to the Patient Relations desk on the ground floor. Complaints can also be submitted in writing to patient.relations@kch.sa. We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 10 working days.
